Every now and again a new work of art catches my attention. At the United Nations Headquarters in Vienna, the VIC, Vienna International Centre, there is a new sculpture in the grounds near the entrance to UNIDO, the D and E building to the right when you enter the VIC grounds.
It is called the Sky Patcher and is represented by a woman holding up a slab towards the sky. Reminds me of the myth of sissyfus, rolling a large rock up a hill. That’s what so much of what I do every day feels like. Seems insignificant. Feels unappreciated. Appears to go unnoticed. Yet somehow I just know I need to keep putting one foot in front of the other and keep making those baby, seemingly insignificant steps. At work, at home, in my relationships. Interesting analogy. Sky patching.
