My big issue: Communication.
Years ago when Sandy asked me on the streets of Melbourne: “What makes you happy?” and I answered: “Life!” my on-going confrontation of the dilema of communication and love consciously began. Sandy’s comments that we need to love and care for other people were countered by my response that we need to communicate first.
How can you love somebody that you don’t even know?
How will you know some-one if you do not love?
Such philosophical questions preoccupied us at the age of 21 years and changed my life. I did not agree with Sandy’s views on everything we shared, but there was enough interesting stuff there for me to want to check it all out.
I have never regretted it and now it feels like it has come full turn.
