Ozlilly's musings...

During three weeks of health care including 60 therapies of massage, ergometer, spinal gymnastic, medicinal baths, parafango as well as a few lectures, it was an ideal opportunity for me to take stock, wind down, reflect and also make new friends.

Toadstools- a sign of nature in tact.
One of my voluntary activities was nordic walking. Apparently patients were asked if they preferred to walk or cycle. I don’t think I was asked. I had ergometer training with pulse measurements and that meant that I had my first chance to try a home trainer, standing bicycle, that is, a machine like a bicycle without any wheels at all!
I started with a measurement of 50 watts and mentioned that I was used to cycling ten minutes to the railway station and back. I expected the twenty minute session to be a challenge and did not want to overdo anything.
By the end of the three weeks I was at 70 watts, consuming over 120 Kcal. and cycling the equivalent of 7 km in twenty minutes.
