Ozlilly's musings...

Yesterday I was at a meeting on Gender Balanced Leadership.

I was greeted with joy by members of the IAEA Chapter of Women in Nuclear who cosponsored the event with PWN -The Professional Women’s Network. The comment that now they can be assured that photos would be taken spurred me to action. Despite my overheated mobile phone. Despite my lack of video equipment. I began snapping selfies and photos of the room and the group. In fact, before I even entered the premises, I took a moment to admire the beautiful gardens of the Diplomatic Academy. I came here in memorium of Thomas Schoenfeld, whom I often met at meetings here in years gone by. It seems to me that was mostly in winter, or during the day. I could not remember a single time when I saw the beauty of the garden. There were students playing table-tennis behind the bushes and trees.

So then Robert Baker came up to me and asked me whether I was taking photos. He said he would be giving a prize to the one who tweets the most during the meeting. What? Tweet? I NEVER tweet. Well, I do actually have a twitter account. In fact, yes, I even know my name, Ozlillygundy. I’m Australian, my name is Lilly, and the gundy is our nickname as a family. So I began. Or tried. In fact, I even managed to tweet a few tweets. And of course my conscience drove me to stand up and take a few group photos apart from the original selfies. And then, yes, actually, it would be nice to have a video camera of my own. And if I could take quality photos with my OWN camera, that would be nice too. (Hint, hint, birthday coming up at the end of the month! lol) Instead of getting my husband’s new camera thrust into my hands and being expected to produce without practice.

Well, it’s me remember? Multitasking, working mum and all that….

For a report on the meeting? Another time, I have to run off to work.
