Ozlilly's musings...

We spent the last day in Australia, at home at Mum’s, at Babi’s while she went out for her German Club outing. Josef exchanged a few words with the lady from the German club who came to pick Mum up.

Before she left, Josef presented her with a picture frame, saying she could not refuse it, upon which she insisted she is trying to declutter and get rid of everything in the house. So instead of leaving the magnifying mirror I had bought for the back room, in that room, where I would like to have a mirror the next time I come, we ended up taking it home with us, where I really do not need it.We packed our suitcases and folded away the movie material and I took photos of the labels Dad had made for the films for reference. I copied the files of the films I had made onto a memory stick which I then gave to my youngest brother, George when he took me to the airport. We washed the bedding which actually dried before it started raining in the evening when we left. Mum bought lots of sweets which we also had to pack, so the bag we bought yesterday was put to good use and we were just within the luggage limit.
It did not feel like good-bye this time. It was just farewell. It was good to be home, to be with the family, including my husband. The technical challenges of the mobile phone convinced me that next time I’d like to fly with a young assistant to deal with all those modern challenges. I had the two SIM cards in the phone but felt some things were still not really going my way and it is sometimes difficult to figure out what is due to my own ignorance, and what is crafty manipulation on the part of mobile providers and other commercial enterprises out for capital gain.
