How I love the long days and nights; the warmth, the summer evenings, the barbeques, the holidays.
Have I settled into retirement yet? WHAT?
What do you mean – retirement?
First I had the weekend. We celebrated my birthday again as a family on Saturday. This time I got a photo with my DAUGHTER and sons.
Then it was just a regular weekend. Yes, of course the first of July was the beginning of the end of work. But that was our blessing anniversary. I already posted a blog article about that. Josef went to work as usual in the afternoon so I actually didn’t have my “free time” until after he left. Then I went to my cranio therapist for a massage. That was Monday.
So Tuesday Josef went to work in the morning and I finally had some time to start getting my act together. What do you mean? Well, I have to structure the rest of my life now that I’m not working anymore.
I decided to use up the old cream which Josef said he could not whip up last week. It was a long-life cream and you have to refrigerate it for at least 24 hours before use to use as fresh cream. Josef took it off the shelf and was wondering why it did not whip up.
I am still the efficient housewife, yes, even after working full-time for the last 20 years, I can’t bear wasting a thing and of course I had to make good use of this “failed” whipped cream. I went into the pantry and took out our alternative flours. I decided to use the pumpkin seed flour and the coconut flour. The almond flour went straight into the bin. The flour bin was washed and dried and properly closed after refilling with the open packets of flour.
I enjoyed my pancakes with maple syrup hand delivered from Canada (Thanks Mike!) and had some fresh berries with it.
By the afternoon I was thinking perhaps this sudden surge on carbohydrates and sugars was perhaps not the best idea. I had such a belly ache. I got myself a hot water bottle, and I even did what I said I would do when I retire: I went to bed and tried to sleep. Maybe I even did. By late afternoon I was back on my pc, sifting through my files, trying to download that video file. It was suddenly seven in the evening when I realised I had committed to going to the Lightworkers meeting which began at six. I still had a belly ache. I sent off a message and knew I would be spending some time, at least this week, really sleeping and resting.
So how is retirement?
Retirement?
No, first holidays. Next week health kur. Then in August. In August, I’ll return from my health kur and then I’ll start thinking about retirement.
