When we went walking to the primary school, as I wanted to show Josef the route I used to walk, we took our sticks with us and did the usual Nordic walking style. I was not sure whether this craze had reached Australia or not,
but I was convinced of the benefits to the back, neck, upper arms and general support for the posture. When we did not meet the current headmaster of the school on the first day, but were advised to return the next day, we were indeed the notable individuals who had been seen walking with sticks the day before.
On our walk through the local streets and to the old playground, I was again amazed at the tribute to the aborigine peoples who lived here before we did.
