Ozlilly's musings...

Not winter yet

I usually like to walk across the plaza at lunchtime, just to see what the weather is like outside. Sitting in the air-conditioned offices of the UN all day and then in winter, travelling to and from work in the dark, I make a point of feeling what type of day it is outside.

I also love to catch the sunlight whenever I can. Typically at this time of year, I am already mourning the end of summer, even though it is actually still light when I travel to and from work at the moment. I love the water fountain and that it is still flowing, despite this late October time of the year. I’m sure some years it has already been emptied out in preparation for the winter freeze, to prevent bursting pipes, which is typical of the practice here in Austria due to the harsh winter weather.
